American Express Travels to Savannah and It Liked What It Saw!

DEPARTURES, the venerable charge card company’s magazine for its traveling American Express cardholders, has included Savannah in its latest edition. Prominently displayed are brief but positive blurbs about staying, shopping and dining in the Hostess City. Mentions range from the classic (Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room) to the trendy (Local 11Ten), with shopping destinations from the Paris Market to Arc.

The Ballastone Inn is proud to be one of only two Savannah lodging facilities singled out for mention in the AMEX publication. The article mentions the refurbished mansion, its courtyard and its gourmet breakfast, along with the attentive staff that is a long-established Ballastone hallmark. There’s even (blush!) a passing mention of the titillating era of the elegant mansion’s long history.
